Although we had an extra day in the month, February still passed quickly, as it always does. This month consisted of personal wins I hold close to myself and a great amount of love and appreciation for my friends. Now we are only five days into March, and my backyard is already busy with cardinals and blue jays chirping the entire day.
Movies strictly for the girls– think Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Mama Mia, etc.
Vintage photo booths
Job interviews
Not caring about Valentine’s Day. It’s literally just another day
Having an empty email inbox
Listening to summertime music in the dead of winter
Only being able to be productive when my room is completely dark and lit up by candles
Wanting a clothing item until I realize every single person on tik tok is also wearing it
Following through on the promises I make to myself
Looking up discussion questions for the books I read
I’m still reading East of Eden, but now I’ve made a solid dent and should finish it soon. John Steinbeck is such a detailed writer. The way he sets his scenes and introduces characters is incredible. The book has numerous characters with separate storylines, which felt confusing upon initial introduction, but I now feel like I could guess their next moves before they occur. John Steinbeck has become one of my favorite writers, and I believe this book will end up being a favorite of mine once I have finished.
February was quiet, as most months are. At the beginning of the month, I visited my friend, who lives just outside New York City. We spent the day walking across multiple neighborhoods, stopping at cafes, and peaking in tiny shops. And, of course, we had to find ourselves a vintage photo booth. We looked around the pharmacy Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy would get her iconic headbands. I told myself I needed one until I realized the cheap plastic headbands were $30. No thank you.
Sometimes I share little bits of wisdom on TikTok. I don’t consider myself to know much, but for some reason, they always do well. This is just something I noted down to share.
That’s all for now, friends. I hope your February was filled with love and the understanding that romantic love isn’t the only one that exists. Here’s to being one step closer to a blossoming spring.
All the love,
B xx
